Barber posed a challenge for drivers tonight, with, Jake Wright, taking the checkered! Ryan Otis unfortunately was unable to attend which meant no matter who won, the streak would be broken. Though Wright didn't have an easy time making it back in first, he started on pole but the driver starting second, Micheal Goodman, took the lead entering Turn 1 on the first lap. Goodman would lead until close to the end of the race when an incident accrued and Wright was able go around.
Alabama Native, Jesse Vincent, started 20th and forced his way up to 2nd! James Paulson advanced one position to finish 3rd! Travis Jegerlehner started ninth to move forward into 4th, and Jason Galvin would maintain his starting position to round out the Top 5! Next Wednesday we leave North America for the first time this season to head over to Europe, to race at the famous Circuit Zolder! We will not be using a standing start, so there isn't any need to worry about wheel spin on the start! Come join us! Ryan Otis continues his winning streak after 66 laps at the Iowa Speedway! For the first time this season he didn't lead the most laps in the race. Jason Galvin started 5th and made his way to the front of the field to lead 56 of the 66 laps!
The Iowa Speedway is a bullring for the high downforce Indycars, and the same could be said for the Radical SR8, which felt like a mix of Indycar and Stockcar style of racing at the .875 Mile short track! With a lot of back and fourth racing, drivers Robert Mikes, Pierre Daigle, Ron Hacker and Vincent Bluthenthal round out the Top 5! On December 21st we south to the Barber Motorsports Park, which will have a standing start so be sure to practice your starts! Another big field tonight in the Lionheart Challenge Series as 23 drivers take on Summit Point Raceway! But it took little time for Ryan Otis to find his speed, being the only driver to hit a 1:05 in practice and taking the pole to start the race! Otis went on to lead all 36 laps to start a winning streak, as well as being the only driver to lead any laps in the new season!
The Radicals were a nice fit at Summit Point, this track and car combo made for a very intense and fun race... Though Summit Point showed difficulty for drivers to make passes due to the track's tight and fast corners. Jake Wright gave it his all to try and run down Otis but had no luck and finished second! Jesse Vincent and Michael Goodman fought all night for third place with Vincent edging out Goodman! Dustin Wardlow had no difficulty holding off the competition to round out the top five! With Ryan Otis leading the championship by 13 points ahead of Jesse Vincent... The Lionheart Challenge Series hits the first oval of the season... The Iowa Speedway! Come out and join us Wednesday, December 14th! |
