Frequently Asked QUestions


When was the Lionheart Racing Series Formed?  The Lionheart Racing Series was formed on 7-1-14 and is approaching its 9th year anniversary.  Lionheart celebrates the memory of IndyCar Champion Dan Wheldon.

How do I join?  Drivers interested in joining either the Lionheart Open Wheel, Retro Series or Sportscar Championship must submit an application through the league's registration page here.

How much does it cost to join?  Each member pays a general entry fee of $15 for the entire season.  There are entry fees specific to each series.  Open Wheel holds a $115 entry fee for 2023, Lotus 79 holds a $95 entry fee and the entry fee for the Sportscar Championship is $105

Are there prizes and or payouts?  Yes! Each year Lionheart works extremely hard to bring the best possible payout and prize package to its drivers.  

How many races are in each season? There are a total of 22 rounds in the IndyCar Series and 22 rounds in the Retro and 18 in our new Sportscar Championhsip Series.  

When does each season start? 
Lionheart traditionally runs its seasons from early March through December.

Where can I watch Lionheart Events?  All Lionheart events are streamed live on the iRacing eSports Network through RaceSpot TV.  Additionally race replays are then streamed on ESTV.  Race Archives can be viewed here

What types of tracks do you race on?  Lionheart events take place across various types of tracks.  They include short ovals, super speedways, road courses and temporary street circuits.

Are there rule books? Absolutely, Lionheart prides itself in having a very fair and comprehensive rule book which was created by the administration team to promote a competitive and fair environment for all drivers. 

Is there a race control team? Each event will have a team of 2-3 members acting as the leagues Race Control.
