With just over a week before the 2021 Lionheart Indycar Series presented by Buttkicker kicks off from Miami live on Racespot, the silly season has quieted down, and there are a lot of lineup changes for this years’ campaign that are sure to bring lots of excitement.

Let’s start with last seasons team champions Adrenaline Motorsports. 2020 runner up Andrew Kinsella and fellow Canadian Bryan Carey add 5-time iRacing Indycar Road series champion Henry Bennett to their roster on Adrenaline Motorsports Red. Defending series champion Adam Blocker remains as the sole driver for Adrenaline Powerslide as he will fulfill his real world Indycar commitments in 2021. Joe Branch moves over to Adrenaline Motorsports Black with 2020 race winners Tony Showen and Chris Stofer.

Six-time 2020 winner and real world Indycar driver Sage Karam teams up with blazing fast teammate Damon Martinez for the 2021 campaign to form the two car BDE Motorsports. It will be interesting to see if the duo picks up a third driver to contend for the team title.

Alkentech Simulation NHR e-Sports captain Stephen Laarkamp retains Matt Taylor after filling in as an emergency substitute coming off a second-place team championship finish. They will add the #20 of Chris Fowler to the team and are hoping to do one spot better in 2021.

The new team of PRIVATE LABEL Team Hype sees series heavyweights Josh Chin and Connor Harrington team up after strong top 5 efforts in 2020 in which the pair combined for 5 wins and 4 pole positions. Series rookie and former iRacing Indy 500 top split winner Jason Brophy will pilot the third car for the new outfit in 2021.

The Synergy Motorsports stable of teams expand from two teams to three, with the addition of 2020 Lionheart Retro Series champion Ryan Otis and Retro Series driver James Paulson to join series stalwart Dustin Wardlow on Synergy Silver. The Hacker duo of Ron and Ken join Jorge Anzaldo on Synergy Blue, and a new combo of Brian Beard, Jay Brant, and Justin Weaver will race under the Synergy umbrella for Synergy Black.

Loud Pedal Motorsports will once again field two teams in 2021, GRAAFix LMP and Thumbs Up Cancer Down LMP. On GRAFFix LMP; Tyler Graaf will partner with two rookies who had strong finishes at the end of their partial 2020 seasons, Mike Rasimas and Aaron Morgan, while perennial oval aces Jason Galvin and Joe Hassert team up with Brian Greenlee to form Thumbs Up Cancer Down LMP. Brian Yaczik will move to a limited schedule after the birth of their first child, Congrats Brian!

Former Indycar driver Richie Hearn and teammate Chris Ragan move their Elite West Motorsports team from the Retro Series over to the IR-18. Sector 5 sees Lionheart veterans George Sandman, Scott Holmes, and Lionel Calisto team up for the 2021 season. James Krahula picks up Samuel Reiman and Retro Series race winner Ricky Hardin for Sim Racing Merch Esports. There are two new single car teams that will contest their maiden season in 2021, with Luis Gonzalez Nunez driving for Neki Racing Team, and Matt Huston piloting the #99 for Team RaceVerse. 2020 Lionheart Indycar Pocono winner Mike Rigney and Adam Frazier remain the only two independent drivers for this season.

The Lionheart IndyCar Series Presented by ButtKicker 2021 Season kicks things off March 3rd with the HyperX Miami 200 at Homestead. Live coverage begins at 9:35 pm CST provided by RaceSpot TV.
