Last night Lionheart made its way south to Texas Motor Speedway for 84 laps around the 1.5 mile oval. Matt Kingsbury would sit pole with a qualifying lap of 24.157 with teammate Big Joe on his outside.
Matt would take off early, but just as the race got going Jack Bogan and Korey Connor got into eachother bringing out a caution as they were completing the first circuit. Matt would jump out to a 1.5 second lead as Joe battled with Trevor Malone and Dan Geren for positions 2-4. Joe would be able to sneak away from Dan and Trevor before the 2nd caution would come out. Matt would win the race off pit road and green flag racing would resume the rest of the race. With 20 laps to go final pit stops would occur with Matt holding a 2.5 second lead over Joe stretching it to 4 seconds off pit road. Joe was followed by Justin Laxton, Ray Kingsbury and Jesse Vincent, all three having started outside the top 10. It was all Matt Kingsbury leading 82 of 84 laps yielding only to pit as he would take the win over Joe by 5.5 seconds. Justin tried to close the gap to Joe but was unable to get up to him, falling back 1 second taking 3rd. Ray Kingsbury and Jesse Vincent would round off the top 5. Matt would take over 2nd place in the points closing the gap to 53 points behind Jesse Vincent. Ray drops to 3rd in the points, followed by Joe and Trevor. Next week we head up north to Wisconsin and the scenic Road America.
